The Robert Sorby Pigtail Mandrel is tapered to screw the polishing mop onto to apply a finish. It can be mounted to the drill or headstock mounted chuck. The threaded taper winds into the back of the mop and then rotates as it applies the finish, giving a nice deep finish.
